Grant Product Courses
Grant Aerona³ Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Intended for domestic heating and renewable installers who wish to know more about the Grant Aerona³ air source heat pump range. Training covers the Grant Aerona³ R32 heat pump including construction, principles of operation, electrical wiring, controller settings, sizing and selection of the correct unit(s) to suit the property concerned, installation considerations and requirements, and commissioning the complete system.
Grant Aerona 290 Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Intended for domestic heating and renewable installers who wish to know more about the Grant Aerona 290 air-to-water heat pump range. The training covers the Aerona 290 heat pump construction and operation, performance, considerations and requirements for installing R290 heat pumps, and commissioning the system. The course also includes the Grant Aerona Smart heat pump controller and settings.
Grant Air Source Heat Pump System Design Course
This course is intended for domestic heating and renewables installers who wish to know more about the basics of system design for Grant air source heat pumps. The course focuses on areas regarding heat pump system design and covers how to carry out heat loss calculations, the steps involved in selecting and sizing heat pumps and emitters, as well as sound level calculations.
Grant Hybrid Solutions
Intended for domestic heating and renewable installers who wish to know more about the Grant EvoLink Hybrid System Hub, low loss header hybrid systems and the Grant VortexAir Air Source Heat Pump / Oil Boiler Hybrid. This training course covers product details and construction, installation and commissioning, electrical connections and wiring, system operation, hydraulics and product settings.
Grant Solar Thermal Systems
Intended for either experienced solar thermal installers or heating installers new to solar thermal who wish to know more about Grant Solar Thermal Systems. Training covers all aspects of the Grant Solar Thermal System including principles of operation, system design, collector construction and installation, pump station, controls and filling/commissioning procedures.
Grant Uflex Underfloor Heating
Intended for domestic heating installers of boilers or ASHP's, either with UFH experience or those wishing to know more about Grant Uflex underfloor heating systems. This training course covers the basic principles of underfloor heating and the system design considerations, as well as full details of the Grant Uflex systems, their installation, filling and pressure testing and commissioning.
Grant Vortex Condensing Boilers
Intended for oil installers who wish to know more about the Grant Vortex oil-fired boiler range. This course covers all models from the Grant Vortex range. Training includes boiler construction, principles of operation, installation, balanced and conventional flue systems, condensate disposal, burner operation, fault finding and commissioning/servicing procedures.
Grant Combi Boilers
For oil installers and commissioning/servicing technicians, this course covers all aspects of Grant combination boilers. In addition to the Vortex and VortexBlue (low NOx) condensing combination boilers, it also includes the Combi V3, Combi Max and MKII Combi models (internal and external). It covers principles of operation, servicing and fault finding.
Pressure Jet Oil Burners
For oil commissioning/servicing technicians and oil installers who want to know more about the pressure jet burners fitted to Grant boilers. This course covers the Riello G5BF, RDB and RDB GB (blue flame, low NOx) burners, as well as the Ecoflam MAX1 and Sterling burners. It includes the principles of operation, operating sequences, component functions, fault finding, and commissioning and servicing procedures, using both theory and practical ‘hands on’ sessions. It is an ideal preparation for technicians intending to take the OFTEC10-101 Servicing/Commissioning training and assessment.

These facilities are being fully utilised in offering a full schedule of the Training and Assessment Programmes for oil installation, commissioning and servicing for those seeking OFTEC registration as oil technicians and Training and Assessment Programmes for the installation, commissioning and servicing of air source heat pumps and heat pump system design for technicians seeking their OFTEC registration and MCS certification.
OFT10-101: Oil Pressure Jet Servicing and Commissioning
Training and assessment for practicing oil technicians wishing to obtain OFT10-101 registration – as an oil servicing/commissioning technician allowing them to commission pressure jet oil appliances in accordance with Part L of the current Building Regulations (England & Wales).
OFT10-600A/OFT10-105E/OFT10-101: Oil Appliance Installation, Oil Storage and Supply Installation, and Pressure Jet Servicing and Commissioning
Training and assessment for practicing oil technicians wishing to obtain OFT10-600A, OFT10-105E and OFT10-101 registration allowing them to ‘self-certify’ their oil boiler and domestic/non-domestic oil tank installations and commission pressure jet oil appliances in accordance with Part L of the current Building Regulations (England & Wales).
OFT10-600A/OFT10-105E: Oil Appliance Installation and Oil Storage & Supply Installation
Training and assessment for practicing oil technicians wishing to obtain both OFT10-600A and OFT10-105E registration – allowing them to ‘self-certify’ their oil boiler and domestic/non-domestic oil tank installations.
OFT10-600A: Oil Storage and Supply Installation
Training and assessment for practicing oil technicians wishing to obtain OFT10-600A registration – for installation of domestic and non-domestic oil tanks, allowing installers to ‘self-certify’ their tank installations in accordance with current Building Regulations in England & Wales.
OFT21-504D: Design of Heat Pump systems
This course is intended for heating professionals who will be designing heat pump systems. The course explains the requirements for designing heat pump systems as well as understanding low temperature heating and hot water systems in dwellings. This qualification would enable the holder to apply for OFTEC registration and for MCS certification for work under the scope of MIS 3005-D (The Heat Pump Standard- Design).
OFT21-504A: Installation, commissioning and servicing of Air Source Heat Pumps
This course is intended for heating engineers who will be installing and maintaining air source heat pumps (non-refrigerant circuits). The course covers the key elements involved in a heat pump installation as well as commissioning, servicing, and maintaining air source heat pump units. This qualification would enable the holder to apply for OFTEC registration and for MCS certification for work under the scope of MIS 3005-I (The Heat Pump Standard- Installation).
OFT21-504A & OFT21-504D: Installation, commissioning and servicing of Air Source Heat Pumps and Design of Heat Pump systems
This course is intended for heating engineers who will be designing heat pump heating systems as well as installing and maintaining air source heat pumps (non-refrigerant circuits). The OFT21-504A qualification covers the key elements of air source heat pump installation, commissioning and servicing and the OFT21-504D qualification covers the key requirements for designing such low temperature heating systems. Completion of both qualifications would enable the holder to apply for OFTEC registration and for MCS certification for work under the scope of MIS 3005-I and MIS3005-D.

Unvented Hot Water Storage Scheme Building Regulations Part G 2010
This course is aimed at experienced operatives who require a qualification in the installation, servicing and maintenance of domestic hot water systems. This course has been developed to ensure operatives comply with the requirements of Approved Document G when working on hot water systems. It includes the installation of Unvented Hot Water Systems up to 500 litres and 45kW power input in accordance with G3.
Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations Course
This course is aimed at persons requiring certification in accordance with the requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, including qualified plumbers either looking to improve their knowledge of the Water Regulations or who wish to join their local water authority’s Water Industry Approved Contractor Scheme.
