What to check if a boiler is operating on overheat thermostat?

If an oil boiler is working on overheat thermostat, a heating engineer should check the following:

  • Is there a faulty boiler thermostat?
  • If there is no circulation, check circulating pump.
  • Check the system for an air lock.

Please note, it is important to always isolate the electricity supply to the boiler before working on the boiler.
