The Aerona³ R32 inverter driven air source heat pumps are Grant’s greenest and most efficient heat pumps yet. Incorporating R32 refrigerant which has a significantly lower Global Warming Potential compared to traditional refrigerants, the Aerona³ R32 range models are cleaner and more eco-friendly while also being incredibly effective. With excellent SCOPs, all of the Aerona³ heat pumps achieve high performances allowing homeowners to lower their dependency on fossil fuels while also reducing their annual fuel bills.

The Aerona³ R32 heat pumps are Grant’s greenest heat pumps yet. Each model also incorporates the familiar features that engineers have come to associate with the Grant Aerona brand. Grant’s Aerona³ air source heat pumps incorporate a number of features, as standard, which are all designed to make the installation quicker and easier for engineers. From its integrated HE pump through to the simplified electrics, the Aerona³ has been designed to save installers time when onsite fitting the heat pump, reducing the installation time for engineers and efficiently restoring a property’s heating for homeowners.

Consisting of four single phase models – 6kW, 10kW, 13kW and 17kW – the Aerona³ R32 heat pumps provide heating and hot water for properties. Each unit operates at high efficiencies even when the external temperatures are low, making for a cost-effective renewable alternative to traditional off-gas heating methods. Monobloc in design, the Aerona³ R32 is suitable for use with S-Plan heating control systems and is simple to work with for installation and maintenance. The Aerona³ R32 models have a compact footprint and operate with low noise levels. They therefore have minimal impact on their surrounds both aesthetically and acoustically, something which is of great benefit to end-users.

Metering
If a homeowner intends to access the RHI, one or more electricity meters will be required. These meters allow the homeowner to monitor the electricity consumed by their heat pump installation. Grant's electricity meter (part code EML/100A) is class B Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) compliant.
Most domestic ASHP installations do not require a heat meter to be fitted for the RHI payment, however for non-domestic RHI installations a class 3 MID compliant heat meter will be required. Grant offer suitable heat meters for all their heat pump range (part codes HPIDHEATMETER for HPID13R32 and HPID17R32 units or HPIDHEATMETER2 for HPID6R32 and HPID10R32 units).


Volumisers & Buffers
It is a requirement for a system volumiser to be fitted with every Grant ASHP or hybrid installation. Grant's range of buffers and volumisers allow for different configurations of the flow and return to and from the heat source, helping to maintain a constant flow rate and maximise system efficiency.

F-Gas Regulations and R32 Gas

The 2014 EU Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas (F-Gas) Regulations is legislation designed to phase out the use of hydrofluorocarbons, with the introduction of a series of targets which are designed to limit the use of gases which have the highest Global Warming Potential (GWP). Grant’s latest ASHP uses R32 refrigerant which has a GWP which is considerably lower than other typical heat pump refrigerants such as R410, thus complying with the upcoming legislative targets.

In addition to having a lower GWP figure of 675, R32 is a single-component refrigerant which means it has no temperature glide. Refrigerant blends that have two or more components exhibit temperature glide but as R32 only has one molecule in its formation, its saturated liquid and vapor temperatures are the same. By removing the risk for the refrigerant to suffer from glide, the system can recharge and recycle with greater ease, making it more efficient.
