On 17th October 2016, the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee was incorporated into the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee. On 2nd February 2016, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, confirmed the details of a new boiler scrappage scheme which will offer a £400 subsidy to homeowners and landlords who upgrade their inefficient boilers to high efficiency models. This cashback scheme is being offered to residents in the Greater London area and is a welcome initiative to encourage the uptake of A-rated heating appliances.
