You should only clean your Afinia radiator(s) when the surfaces are cold. To clean your aluminium radiator(s), use a moist cloth to remove any dirt from the outer surfaces of the radiator. A neutral liquid detergent or soapy water can be used to remove more stubborn marks. You should not use any abrasive cleaners, cleaning liquids, aerosols or polishing pastes to clean Afinia radiators.
No, it is not recommended to place a shelf directly on top of a radiator because it may impair the radiator’s ability to emit heat into the room.
Yes, aluminium radiators do need bleeding however, it is important to note, that the procedure for bleeding Afinia aluminium radiators can differ depending on the type of system they are fitted to. With a sealed system, you need to check the system pressure (and top up if necessary) during the bleed process otherwise you are likely to have low system pressure which can cause problems. Whereas, with open vented systems, it automatically replenishes the system water so there is no need to check the system pressure before bleeding your radiators. If you are unsure about what type of system you have or if you are unsure how to bleed your radiators correctly, please contact your heating engineer.
