On Valentine’s Day, Grant UK shared the love with a bake sale held at their Head Office in Devizes to raise money for local children’s charity, Julia’s House.
Grant UK’s HQ was filled with the delicious scent of fresh baking on Valentine’s Day this year. A selection of tasty homemade treats was on offer at the bake sale, including a Victoria Sponge, white chocolate brownies, banana bread, and cupcakes. Additional favourites were on the table as well from traditional scones and ice buns through to a chocolate roll.
Nothing complements a cup of coffee or tea quite as well as a lovely slice of cake or a yummy chunk of brownie so it was no surprise that the bake sale was popular! Staff gave donations for their chosen bake, raising a wonderful £63.50 in total. This money will be donated to Julia’s House, the charity that Grant UK is supporting throughout 2017 with a variety of fundraising activities.
Julia’s House supports seriously ill children in Wiltshire and Dorset who do not have access to the level of care and support that they need. Later this Spring, the charity will also be unveiling a new hospice in Devizes which will be the first of its kind in the county to provide much needed support for local children and their families.
This Valentine’s Bake Sale was the first charity activity of the year held by Grant UK, and follows a very successful month of fundraising in December when Grant’s staff raised £500 for Julia’s House. Further events are in the planning for the remaining months of 2017, all of which will raise money to support Julia’s House and its incredibly worthy cause.
