Corporate Social Responsibility

Grant UK is committed to supporting the community as well as striving to reduce the Company’s environmental impact, both in its products and throughout the business.

Grant UK supports the local community by fundraising for charities, nominated and selected by employees, based close to our Company Headquarters in Wiltshire. The Wiltshire Air Ambulance is our current chosen charity who we started to support in 2019. Grant UK has donated £35,000 to this local charity so far and we are continuing to support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance throughout 2022 as well.

Grant UK’s fundraising activities are organised by staff and vary from virtual events through to face to face fundraisers and an annual staff Christmas raffle. The mix of activities enable all staff to get involved.

Environmental policy

It is our policy to manage our business in the most environmentally responsible manner, complying with the relevant environmental legislation and regulations. Grant UK also aims to provide customers with an on time and fault free, reliable service.

Through our Quality Environmental Policy (ISO14001), everyone at Grant UK is committed to continuous improvement with our products and services, as well as recycling, reducing pollution, and exceeding our customers’ expectations wherever possible.

We have significantly reduced our product packaging and, where possible, we have made sure that the packaging that is used is made from recyclable materials. Furthermore, vehicles in the Company's fleet are moving to either fully electric or hybrid models and staff are encouraged to use the Cycle to Work Scheme where possible.

In 2019, Grant UK implemented a number of initiatives designed to increase the level of recycling taking place in the Company’s operations. Today, employees are encouraged to reduce waste and recycle whenever possible with the placement of recycling facilities throughout our premises in Devizes.

Since introducing these additional recycling measures, Grant UK has significantly improved its waste collections and recycling volumes. In less than a year, our cardboard waste reduced by 55%, plastic waste reduced by 52% and the amount of general waste produced onsite also greatly reduced with over 1 tonne being handled as mixed recyclables.

By recycling and reusing cardboard more often and reducing the need for plastics onsite and within our packaging, Grant UK is making positive steps forward to achieving sustainable business operations for a greener future. In addition, low-energy LED lights are used throughout the offices and both buildings at Grant UK's HQ in Wiltshire have fully renewable heating systems.

Green-thinking Initiatives

A key part of Grant UK’s ongoing endeavour to operate as sustainably as possible is a move to make all their brochure print environmentally friendly.

In December 2020, Grant UK published two new core product brochures which are 100% recyclable. The paper used for these brochures is 100% recycled and uncoated, and the ink used throughout is plant-based so both Grant’s Oil Boiler range brochure and Air Source Heat Pump range brochure can be used and then placed in the recycling bin afterwards.

The publication of these brochures on completely recyclable printing materials marks the first step for Grant UK in making the printing of all its company literature recyclable.
