The new charity farm in Monmouth underwent a renovation which completed in January 2018.

A charity farm in Redbrook, near Monmouth, has recently undergone a complete renovation where a new Vortex oil boiler has been installed which was donated by Grant UK.

Jamie’s Farm purchased the property at the beginning of 2017 with this Monmouth facility joining the charity’s other farms located in Hereford and Bath. A comprehensive redevelopment programme took place at the premises over the course of twelve months and the renovation was completed in January 2018. Since then, children from schools who partner with Jamie’s Farm have visited to enjoy all that the Monmouth Farm has to offer.

A member of staff at Grant UK was connected to Jamie’s Farm so they approached the Company to ask for assistance with the heating requirements at the property in Monmouth. Grant UK donated a Vortex Pro Utility 26/36kW boiler as well as supplying additional products required to meet the heating needs. The selection of Grant products installed is now providing the heating and hot water for the farm’s accommodation and buildings.

The charity’s ethos is based on providing unique residential experiences for disadvantaged children who visit one of Jamie’s Farms. The Monmouth Farm, which has 64-acres, is a working farm and is home to a number of cattle, sheep, horses and pigs. Children who visit participate in a range of activities including carpentry, gardening, cooking and equine therapy. Using a combination of farming, family and therapy, Jamie’s Farm helps the children to gain skills and knowledge that they can use back home.

Working alongside schools in urban areas, Jamie’s Farm helps children who are struggling at school. Small groups are welcomed to the countryside during term-time where they spend five days living on one of the farms. The children learn about the responsibilities involved with looking after a farm and its animals, equipping each child with the confidence that will enable them to thrive at secondary school.

Jamie Feilden, the Charity’s CEO, wrote to Grant UK thanking them for their contributions. “I want to say a huge thank you to Grant UK for their extremely kind donation for our recently opened Monmouth Farm,” writes Jamie. “The children who visit now have cosy rooms and lovely hot showers after a hard day working out on the farm!”
