December can be a hectic time of year with Christmas preparations, but last month was especially busy for Grant UK’s staff who were involved in various fundraising activities for local children’s charity, Julia’s House.

Throughout December, a range of charity fundraisers were held at Grant UK’s Head Office in Devizes where the staff helped raise £500 for Julia’s House. The first involved hot chocolate, marshmallows and cream – three things that are always allowed in excess in the weeks leading up to Christmas. During the whole of the month, staff could make themselves an indulgent hot chocolate to enjoy while also making a donation to the charity box.

The next activity involved excessive knitwear! Friday 16th saw all departments don an array of festive jumpers involving Rudolph, Christmas puddings, snowflakes and much more! Even if the weather outside did not warrant thick winter-wear, everyone at Grant UK certainly got into the Christmas jumper spirit.

‘Chili Tuesday’ took place the following week when a delicious hot lunch was laid on. On the menu was a warming vegetarian chili which employees could enjoy with either a jacket potato or rice, alongside nachos, cheese and sour cream. Again, donations were made and this raised just under £50 – not bad for a lunch-break!

The major fundraising activity for the month was a special raffle. Amongst the prizes on offer were: Kindle Fires, iPod shuffles, luxury chocolates and food hampers. Much excitement was raised in the office and understandably, with so many great prizes on offer, raffle tickets were hot property. The raffle was hugely popular, as reflected in the money raised by the ticket sales.

Following this busy month of fundraising activities, Grant UK is proud to be presenting a £500 donation to Julia’s House. This charity supports seriously ill children in Wiltshire and Dorset who do not have access to the level of care and support that they need and, later this year, Julia’s House will be opening a new hospice in Devizes, the first of its kind in the county.

Grant UK is pleased to confirm that Julia’s House is the Company’s chosen charity for 2017. Over the forthcoming twelve months, a variety of fundraising activities will be organised to help fund the new Julia’s House hospice in Devizes and to support the superb work of this local charity.
