Grant UK’s parent company, Grant Engineering based in Birr, Co Offaly, has officially announced its major expansion plan that will be implemented over the next two years.

€7m will be invested into developing the facilities where award winning heating appliances, including the Vortex condensing oil-fired boiler and Spira condensing wood pellet boiler, are manufactured. Not only will the facilities increase in size, but the company’s long-standing commitment to the local community will also be enhanced with the introduction of new jobs.

Grant Engineering has been established for forty years and this new development is in response to the growing demand and popularity of its products. In addition to increasing the size of the manufacturing facilities, the development will also see the introduction of a state of the art innovation centre, a customer services centre and a training school.

The announcement of this major development saw the Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister), Enda Kenny, visit Birr and look around the impressive facilities already in place at Grant Engineering. The Taoiseach’s visit signifies the importance of this investment both economically and within the local community. The increased capacity of the site will lead to the creation of fifty new jobs varying from full and part time roles, from operative to highly-skilled engineering positions. This will lead to a total of over 320 people being employed by Grant in Ireland.
Stephen Grant, Director and founder of Grant Engineering, commented on the exciting forthcoming plans: “Over recent years, we have continued to grow our business, and this investment will allow us to increase capacity and expand into new markets and develop new products. It also reinforces our commitment to innovation, the local community and the local economy.”

The expansion plans in Ireland are being echoed by the UK arm of the company. Grant UK, which is marking its 20th anniversary this year, is also undergoing expansion at its headquarters in Devizes. The summer of 2016 will see Grant UK’s warehouse capacity almost double in size and a new product showroom and conference facility will also be built.

The coming years look set to be busy for both Grant UK and Grant Ireland reinforcing their market leading position in the industry. Green products. Great thinking. Grant Engineering.
