Vortex Combi upgrade saves installers time and money

Grant Vortex Pro 2014 Internal Combi SE Pump (Internal View)

Following valuable feedback from G-One installers and the training academy, Grant UK has made some innovative upgrades to the Combi models within its successful Vortex range.

Most oil-fired combination boilers are supplied with a 12 litre expansion vessel and it’s the installer’s responsibility to provide any additional expansion for the system. The Vortex Combi range now includes a 24 litre expansion vessel, as well as fitting a plug and socket connection for the Riello RDB burner, as standard.

Therefore this upgrade to the Vortex Combi models will ultimately reduce extra installation time and cost, as in most cases a 24 litre vessel should more than cope with expansion for both the boiler and heating system and remove the need for an additional external vessel.

The plug and socket has been requested by service engineers to aid the removal of the burner during annual maintenance, making the job both quicker and easier. The latest Grant Vortex Combi models also feature internal frost protection, neon diagnostic indicators and a factory fitted internal condensate trap (this can be sited externally if preferred), all designed to make installation and servicing easier.

The large heat exchangers with their low water content and bigger surface area, vastly increase the hot water performance available, and the mixing valves are pre-set at 50°C, controlling accurately the hot water draw off temperature from the boiler. They have a low system pressure cut-off switch, enabling the Combi to protect itself in the unlikely event of system water loss. Additionally, there are two very accurate electronic temperature controls which allow the boiler to operate in condensing mode on central heating, whilst maintaining its instant hot water production.

The Vortex Combi is available in an internal or external version in three sizes – 21kW, 26kW and 36kW.
