We advise all of our engineers to obtain the relevant qualifications, certifications and approvals in the products they install, such OFTEC, MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme), etc.
The purpose of OFTEC is to recognise reputable, qualified installers who are capable of installing and servicing oil-fired boilers. Members of OFTEC are approved to certify that their work meets Building Regulations. Any householder who uses an OFTEC registered installer will receive an official certificate to confirm that the work carried out meets the official industry standard. Any installer who is not registered with OFTEC is required to notify their local authority’s building control department before they carry out any installation work.
Please note: in order to be able to claim the financial incentives through the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) and the FiTs (Feed-in-Tariffs), your installer (or their sub-contractor) must be MCS approved. Please ensure this is confirmed before the installation takes place as Grant Engineering (UK) Ltd takes no responsibility for householders not being able to access these incentives.
