Logic Certification Courses

In addition to the well established OFTEC training and assessment programmes, for oil installers and commissioning engineers, Grant has increased its offering to include the Logic Solar Hot Water Certificate and Unvented Domestic Hot Water courses.

Solar Hot Water Certificate

DURATION: 2 days

This course is suitable for either experienced solar thermal installers or heating installers intending to install solar hot water systems. It covers all major types of indirect solar thermal systems and collectors with both theory and ‘hands on’ training. The course is not intended to cover roof or access work in detail. The assessment involves both written and practical tasks leading to a nationally recognised installer qualification.

IMPORTANT: It is a pre-requisite that candidates hold a current G3 certificate in Unvented Hot Water systems. Experience in basic electrical practice and a basic knowledge of the Water (fittings) Regulations is desirable.

Hot Water Systems and Safety Certificate (Including G3 Unvented Hot Water)

DURATION: 1 day

This course is for experienced plumbers and heating installers wanting to install or maintain unvented hot water systems up to 500 litres capacity, in accordance with the requirements of the Building Regulations G3. It involves both theory and ‘hands on’ training, whilst the assessment involves both written and practical tasks.
Whilst not a prerequisite, candidates are advised to complete the Water Regulations (WRAS) course prior to attending this course.

Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) Certificate

DURATION: 1 day

This course, intended for experienced plumbers, covers the requirements of The Water Regulations 1999. This is a WRAS Approved course. On successful completion of the assessment candidates will receive a WRAS Certificate and card that will allow them to apply for Approved Plumbing Contractor status with the Water Authorities.

Solar Photovoltaic Certificate

DURATION: 3 days

This course is aimed at either experienced solar PV installers or experienced electricians intending to install Grid connected solar PV systems up to 6kWp. It covers the related regulations and standards, AC and DC theory, PV cell types, PV array types, system design and installation, commissioning, testing and fault finding. This course is not intended to cover roof or access work in detail. The assessment involves both written and practical tasks leading to a nationally recognised installer qualification.

IMPORTANT: It is a pre-requisite that candidates are electrically qualified and are able to design, install, inspect and test a single phase electrical circuit in accordance with BS7671:2008 (the IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition).

Logic course fees include all training materials, assessment, certification fee and lunch/refreshments.
