TRAINING ACADEMY
Established following the move to their current location at Devizes in December 2002, the OFTEC Award Winning Grant Training Academy clearly indicates the commitment of Grant UK to providing professional training for oil technicians.
Our purpose built training facilities include two air-conditioned lecture rooms, an extensive oil boiler training workshop and a ‘renewables’ training and assessment workshop complete with a full size training roof, working solar thermal, solar PV, air source heat pump and thermal store installations, solar thermal and PV training/assessment rigs and unvented hot water training and assessment rigs. This allows us to offer a wide range of training courses – including Grant product training courses, OFTEC training and assessment and Logic Certification courses.
In addition to the facilities, the Grant training staff have both a wealth of experience and technical knowledge of oil fired domestic boilers, heating systems and installation practice. This combination has resulted in the Grant UK Training Academy winning OFTEC Training Centre of the Year in 2003, H&V News Award for Excellence in 2004, followed by OFTEC Regional Training Centre of the year in 2005 and 2006 and OFTEC Training Centre of the Year again in 2008 and 2010.
LOCAL TRAINING
We realise that not everyone can make it to the Training Centre in Devizes, so we can organise and deliver ‘off site’ training courses for installers and commissioning /service technicians. These include OFTEC 10-105E/10-600A training/assessment (2-days) as well as ‘free of charge’ 1-day Grant product training sessions.
Off site training courses are delivered by our own instructors and are usually arranged in conjunction with local Grant stockists, fuel suppliers, heating contractors, or other technical colleges or training centres.
