GRANT COMPLIMENTS SOLAR RANGE WITH TWIN-COIL CYLINDERS

Grant has taken their already popular Solar Thermal package another step further, with the launch of a competitively priced, high quality, stainless steel, unvented, twin-coil cylinder range.

Grant DuoWave Cylinders are suitable for use with solar thermal installations and applications where a secondary heat source is being utilised.  Available in 200, 250, 300 and 400 litres, the cylinders are ideal to provide hot water solutions for many types of domestic and small commercial properties and at only 580mm in diameter, they are narrow enough to be sited in standard airing cupboards.

All models are manufactured from high quality, corrosion resistant 316 stainless steel, ensuring a long life expectancy.  Internal coils are constructed from 22mm diameter stainless steel, giving high efficiency as well as quick recovery.  The use of CFC free, fire retardant polyurethane foam as insulation, keeps heat loss to a minimum.  Maintenance is minimal, as the cylinders are all fully flooded.  Grant also supplies an additional vessel with each cylinder, to take expansion and contraction of the water within. With a two-year guarantee on all electrical and mechanical components supplied and a 25-year guarantee on the stainless steel cylinder shell, the new DuoWave cylinders offer exceptional quality, value for money, as well as peace of mind.

NEW TRAINING AVAILABLE AT THE GRANT ACADEMY

For installers, the continually changing legislation and ever-advancing product ranges within the heating industry can at times be overwhelming. Grant feels it is vital that installers stay one-step ahead of new technology, so the Academy is increasing its course offering to include further accredited programmes.

New training includes the Logic Solar Hot Water Certificate, which allows installers to acquire the necessary qualification to enable their customers to apply for the Low Carbon Building Programme (formerly ‘Clearskies’) grant towards the cost of their solar hot water system. The second is Logic’s Unvented Hot Water Certificate. This is intended for plumbers and heating installers who wish to obtain the essential qualification to allow them to install domestic unvented hot water systems in compliance with the Building Regulations G3 in England & Wales.

Along side these, the Academy continues to offer on-site and off-site OFTEC 101, 105E and 600 training and assessment programmes, as well as Vortex Condensing, Riello burner and Grant Solar Thermal product courses.

The purpose-built facility now incorporates two air–conditioned lecture rooms, oil-fired product training workshop, unvented hot water training area, solar thermal installation area and refreshment facilities.

THE UNIQUE SOLAR SOLUTION FOR COMBI BOILERS

With solar thermal systems increasing in popularity in the UK and the majority of new and existing heating installations involving mains pressure combination boilers, a simple, cost effective solution to integrate these two technologies is a must.

The Grant CombiSOL is designed to do just that, and is uniquely compatible with most combi boilers and fuel types. In a nutshell, the Grant CombiSOL accurately controls the outlet temperature of stored secondary hot water produced by the solar thermal system, directing the flow either straight to the hot water outlet, or via the combi boiler to the same outlet with a seamless changeover. There are no wild temperature fluctuations at the taps and because the Grant CombiSOL also accurately controls the inlet water temperature to the combination boiler, installing this unit with any combi boiler should not pose a problem.
