The first Vortex Pro Combi XS makes itself at home in Gloucester

Vortex Pro CombiXS (white case view)October saw the new Vortex Pro Combi XS boilers making their way out of Grant’s warehouse and into UK homes. One of the first XS models was installed at a property in Gloucestershire where this compact oil appliance fitted into place with great ease and is now providing the household with reliable, efficient heating.

At only 515mm wide, the Grant Combi XS is the slimmest model of its kind in the UK. Many oil boilers are sold as replacement products which ideally need to fit into the same location as the previous appliance, so the size of a new boiler plays an important role in the decision of what product to fit. Developed by Grant, the XS has a 26kW output and offers installers the option to fit a high efficiency combi in a confined space.

Now stocked in merchants throughout the country, installers are already regularly fitting them. Mason and Son Oil Services, a G-One accredited installer based in Cheltenham, were one of the first engineers to try out this new addition to the Grant Vortex range. Pictured right is the Combi XS that Scott Mason installed, fully fitted into the space where the previous heating appliance was located. Consequently, the installation was a simple one – out with old and in with the new with no fuss or hassle.
The Combi XS has almost identical components and characteristics for both combustion efficiency and domestic hot water performance as its larger cousin – the Pro Combi 26. The only difference with the XS is the location of the 24 litre expansion vessel which is now supplied as an externally fitted kit, rather than located behind the boiler’s front door.

For homeowners, the XS is a highly efficient, dependable heating appliance that will fit into the space under the worktop in the kitchen or that tight corner in the utility room – no rearranging of the downstairs is required. For installers, this new Combi boiler will not be unfamiliar. Mason and Son Oil Services regularly install Grant’s award winning Vortex boilers so they, like many of Grant’s G-One installers, will be accustomed to the XS’s features.
